What is this demo?

This is a free money simulator — a 12-month slice of Freedom Day, the financial life simulator. You play Jordan, a 24-year-old barista in Austin: about $2,470 a month in take-home pay and tips, $2,000 of essential costs, $800 in cash, and $1,200 on a credit card at 24% APR.

Each month brings one decision. Bonds, side gigs, courses, insurance, a volatile market, and the occasional broken phone — every one shows its full price before you commit, and every consequence is explained by one of the 24 principles the game teaches. Everyone gets the same set of decisions on the same day: the “seed of the day” makes runs comparable — decisions, not luck.

The demo runs entirely in your browser and needs JavaScript. Nothing you do here is stored on our servers.
