Is There an Official CASHFLOW App? What Actually Exists in 2026
Published 2026-07-17 · Freedom Day
Short answer: no. As of July 17, 2026, there is no official CASHFLOW® mobile app you can download from the App Store or Google Play. The official way to play Robert Kiyosaki's game digitally is CASHFLOW Classic, a free browser game on richdad.com. Rich Dad's own developer page on the Apple App Store lists just two apps: a radio show player and a financial statement calculator that helps with board-game math (App Store, checked July 17, 2026). Neither one is the full game. Everything else you see in the app stores under the "cashflow" name comes from other developers. This article walks through what officially exists, what used to exist, and what to watch out for.
What Rich Dad officially offers in 2026
We checked Rich Dad's official pages on July 17, 2026. Here is the current lineup.
| Product | What it is | Price | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| CASHFLOW Classic | Free online game in your web browser | Free (registration required) | richdad.com |
| CASHFLOW board game | Physical board game, 2020 Edition | $89.95, marked down from $100 | store.richdad.com |
| CASHFLOW for Kids | Board game version for younger players | Paid | store.richdad.com |
| CASHFLOW Financial Statement Calculator | Companion app for the board game (iPhone/iPad) | Free | App Store |
| Rich Dad Radio Show | Podcast app | Free | App Store |
All prices and listings checked July 17, 2026 on richdad.com and store.richdad.com. Note what is missing from that table: a standalone game app for your phone. The calculator app only crunches the income-statement numbers while you play the physical board game. It is a helper, not the game.
CASHFLOW Classic: the official digital version
CASHFLOW Classic is the web version of the board game. Rich Dad announced it in a press release dated February 10, 2014 (PRWeb). Per that release, the physical game sold for $195 at the time, so a free browser version was a big deal. The same release said players could compete with up to six participants.
The game is still free today. You register for a Rich Dad account, then play in your browser. It simulates the same core loop as the board game. You start with a profession and a salary, then buy assets that generate passive income. The goal is to get your passive income above your expenses — what the game calls escaping the Rat Race.
One honest caveat: the official pages we reviewed on July 17, 2026 show the game running on a laptop and say nothing about phone or tablet support. We could not find an official statement that it works well on mobile browsers. If you want to play on a phone, you may need to temper your expectations or test it yourself.
What happened to the official mobile app
Here is where the search results get confusing. An official mobile version did exist at one point. An undated post on Robert Kiyosaki's official Facebook page announced "CASHFLOW is now on iPad and Android." Third-party download sites still host old Android installer files for a title called "CASHFLOW - The Investing Game."
But that app is gone from the official channels. Rich Dad Operating Company's App Store developer page no longer lists any full game (checked July 17, 2026), and Rich Dad's own CASHFLOW page does not mention a mobile app at all. We could not verify exactly when the official app was pulled or why — Rich Dad has not published a discontinuation notice that we could find. If you see that title offered as a download somewhere today, it is not coming from Rich Dad's official storefronts.
What people searching "CASHFLOW app" actually want
If you typed "cashflow app" or "Kiyosaki game app" into a search bar, you probably want one of three things:
- A game on your phone. Something you can open on the couch, play for twenty minutes, and pick up later.
- A game in your browser. No download, no setup, no finding three friends and a free evening.
- The board game's lessons without the board game's price. Say the game costs about $90 — that is real money for something you might play twice.
The official answer covers option two: CASHFLOW Classic is free and runs in a browser. Option one — a polished official phone app — simply does not exist right now. That gap is exactly why the app stores have filled up with something else.
Watch out: the app stores are full of unofficial clones
Search "cashflow game" in the App Store or Google Play today and you will get results. We did this on July 17, 2026 and found multiple apps using the CASHFLOW name — an iOS "investing game," several Android titles, a "multiplayer" version. Check the developer name on each listing. None of the ones we found were published by Rich Dad Operating Company, LLC.
That does not automatically make them scams. Some may be honest fan projects. But it should slow you down, for a few reasons:
- You do not know who built them. An unofficial developer has no obligation to match the real game's math or lessons.
- Free games have to make money somehow. Ads, in-app purchases, and data collection are the usual answers. Read the listing's privacy label before you install.
- The name is doing the selling. An app that borrows a famous trademark to get downloads is already telling you something about how it operates.
This is a small, everyday version of a rule we teach in our game as Principle 23: Too Good = Too Dangerous. Sometimes an offer is exactly what you were hoping for: the famous game, free, on your phone. The right move then is to check who is actually behind it before you hand over a download, an email address, or a payment method.
Honest alternatives if you want to play something today
So the official phone app does not exist, and the clones deserve caution. What are your real options?
Play CASHFLOW Classic in a browser. It is free, it is official, and it teaches the game's core idea: build passive income until it covers your expenses. Registration on richdad.com is the only cost.
The board game. At $89.95 (store.richdad.com, July 17, 2026), it is a real cost, but the around-the-table version is a genuinely social way to learn. It works well for families and classrooms.
Try our simulator. Full disclosure: Freedom Day is our product. We built it. It is a financial life simulator — a financial education game. You steer a character through jobs, bills, debt, and savings decisions month by month, and see the consequences play out. You can play the free 12-month demo in your browser right now, no download and no account. It is not a CASHFLOW clone; it simulates a different thing — everyday cash decisions and their knock-on effects over time — rather than a race to build passive income.
Why do we think game formats are worth your time at all? The research on classic classroom-style financial education is sobering. A 2014 review that pooled many earlier studies found it explains only about 0.1% of the differences in later financial behavior, with effects that fade within months (Fernandes, Lynch & Netemeyer, Management Science, 2014). A later review of 76 randomized trials was more hopeful (Kaiser, Lusardi, Menkhoff & Urban, Journal of Financial Economics, 2021). Financial education can work, and it works best in active formats close to the moment of decision. Games are one way to make learning active. That logic applies to CASHFLOW, and it is the same logic we built Freedom Day on. Teachers weighing simulation options for a classroom can find our education materials at For Educators.
The bottom line
There is no official CASHFLOW app for your phone in 2026. The official digital version is CASHFLOW Classic, free in your browser at richdad.com, and the official companion app is a calculator, not a game (all checked July 17, 2026). An official mobile game existed years ago but has disappeared from official stores, and we could not verify when or why it was removed. The "cashflow" apps sitting in the app stores today come from other developers — check the publisher name before you install anything.
If you want the browser-game experience without any registration at all, our 12-month demo is one click away. And whichever game you pick, the point is the same: practicing money decisions in a simulation is cheap. Practicing them for the first time in real life is not.
